Please join me as I mourn the loss of this enormous ash tree. It shades the driveway, backyard, swingset, and the whole back of the house from the afternoon sun. It looks woodsy and private from our upstairs windows. It's home to birdies, squirrels, and oodles of carpenter ants. It's also rotten in the middle and leaking water out the side of its trunk. It's coming down this week. And hopefully not on my house, swingset, shed, car, or telephone wires. On the bright side, if I plant a replacement tree this fall, I'll be enjoying similar shade again by my 80th birthday. So, go plant a few trees. Somebody after you will appreciate them.

Trying to keep the kids busy on these long summer days with no school has been interesting.
Watercolors lasted about 10 minutes. Yes, even her teeth are blue.
Playdough followed watercolors and lasted about 20 minutes.

This lasted at least an hour. Who would have thought suds and cozy coupes could make such a good combo?
