Convincing Arguments

Annika is an ordinary kid. She likes soda. But I'm not your ordinary mom and so she never gets it, except for an occasional sip. One evening, in an effort to score a drink of Daddy's Coke, Annika told him in her usual, subtle way, "I'm SO thirsty, I need somethin'. I'm so THIRSTY!" Just asking for a drink would be much too straight forward. When this request didn't offer results, she must have decided that thirst wasn't a legitimate reason to drink such a fabulous, fizzy beverage, and she tried this one. "I'm so thirsty, Papi. I need somethin' that will make me burp."

I'm not sure whether to be really amused by her creativity or really embarrassed that this is my offspring.
