Good thing I'm not partial to birdies.

Roaring 20's Restaurant and Wurlitzer Organ

For those of you not from Indianapolis, this spectacular organ used to be in a pizza restaurant in Indianapolis when Andy was a boy. They went to the restaurant for birthday parties and other occasions and it held lots of fond memories for many Indianapolis families. The organ and its 2 organists moved to Florida, near Tampa, and of course, if we go to Tampa, we have to see the organ. It's great, even if you're a musical flop like me. The kids loved it. Once the music started, all I saw was the back of their heads for the remainder of the meal. It was cool enough to make Keira stop eating to stare. And Keira likes to eat. The lighting was dim and hard to photograph so here are my best attempts. Pictures can't begin to show the extent of this thing. If you get to Tampa, go see the organ. And the Cuban restaurant called La Teresita. It was fabulous and cheap! Also, don't miss the Salvador Dalí museum.

I'm not sure what happened here, but it's an interesting effect.
This was my view after the music began.

The organist in the middle, pipes, horns and things I don't know the names of fill the wall on both sides behind the organ. There are also trumpets, drums, chimes, birdies in cages, and bubbles, among other things, on the walls and ceiling of the room. A true surround sound experience.

Oh, and I almost forgot the best part. The floors were so sticky from poorly mopped soda spills, that Keira could not keep her flip-flops on her feet. She didn't leave them on the floor though, they went straight to her mouth. Wouldn't want to waste a few grams of sugar.
