In order to confirm what you already suspected (that my brain has turned to mush these last few sleepless weeks), I'll share with you 2 things I've been musing over.
Amusement #1) If you take a plastic cup, fill it with ice, then fill it with water, the ice cubes manage to fuze themselves together and you end up with one giant ice glob, more or less. If you take a glass glass, do the same thing, the ice remains as separate cubes. Just noticing.
Amusement #2) Cascade dishwasher detergent really does clean better than Electrasol. My mother was here recently and bought me a box of Cascade, commenting "Consumer Reports ranked Cascade at the top of the list." Ok. I don't really care what soap goes in the dispenser, just so I don't have to wash those dishes. But, I've been noticing my pots come out shinier and the dishes cleaner. Noticeably so. It's a little scary that a few tablespoons of mystery powder can do all that.

Next time someone asks my occupation, I'm going to tell them I'm a wiper. I keep very busy wiping hands, faces, noses, and backsides. If all the little bodies are clean, I wipe other things too... high chair trays, floors, and kitchen counters. If all of THAT is clean, it probably means I'm wiped.

As a parent expecting #2, you might find yourself wondering how you could possibly love another child as much as you love the first one. But don't worry. Shortly after #2 arrives and is sleeping peacefully through #1's third tantrum of the morning, you'll probably find yourself wondering how you're going to love the first one as much as the second.
