Here's a common conversation around our house... actually, it's really the only one, but we have it often.
"Mami?" (mommy)
"Si?" (yes?)
"ommy? ...ommy?" (hambre/hungar)
"Que Quieres?" (What do you want?)
"Caca, Awa" (cracker, agua)
Food of most varieties is called caca (cracker), drink of any kind is awa (agua), and the rest of the objects in the house may as well be called No-No. "No-No," she says as she reaches for the knobs on the stove. "No-No," she says as she opens the lazy susan and proceeds to empty its contents onto the kitchen floor. "No-No," she says as she turns the hot water handle in the bathtub (ALWAYS the hot one). We've certainly got an association down, hopefully we'll get to the obedience part soon.
