Annika woke up at 7:30 this morning. Since I had been fighting for sleep since 5 am when I woke up starved but too lazy to go get something, I ignored her till 8. At least, that's how long she tolerated being ignored. We got up, ate breakfast and then the purple teddy bear, stuffed pelican, and I were served another breakfast while resting on the couch. We had corn on the cob, a large tomato, and maple syrup to drink... not really imaginary this time, just plastic. By the time 9:15 came around, I was feeling so sleepy and Annika was whiny, so I took her up to bed thinking maybe she'd rest for a half hour and I could too. We both woke up at 11 o'clock. I was STILL tired, but decided I should think about a shower instead. By the time I got ready for the day, Annika was back sleeping. I figured she'd be up any minute and I was a little disappointed because I knew this long nap would be it for the day... and I wouldn't get anything done because I'd slept through most of it. Well, sometime around 12:30 she woke up and then played happily in her crib till 1:45! I managed to get a little work done in the bathroom afterall (mudding/sanding the walls... it's a blast). I feel a little guilty that she was in her crib that long, but she wasn't crying, I promise! The best part was that when she did get up she was happy and cute as a button the rest of the afternoon. That being said, I'm still so tired I think I could go down for the night and it's only 4:30. But hey, I'm 32 weeks pregnant, I have an excuse!
By the way, the day is fast approaching and this baby still needs a name. Suggestions anyone?

A. Anything round and sort of spherical. Balls, balloons, paper lantern decorations at the chinese restaurant, plastic heads of lettuce at the children's museum, and mommy's belly all fall into this category.

Annika and I went to the children's museum today, where she had a total blast. The greatest moment of the day was when she got a hold of the gardening gloves. She had me put them on her and then she took off across playscape. I'm still not sure where she was going, except maybe to share her discovery with the rest of the room. She was so busy admiring her green and purple fingers that she couldn't watch where she was going. She was bumping into people right and left and tripping over giant feet, but they were such pretty hands it was worth it. She'd look up at whatever tall person happened to be nearby and spin her wrists to make sure they too could appreciate her newest fashion accessory.
