Just in case you were wondering, it's at it again. Yup... precipitating. It rained for 3 months straight, so I guess it's no surprise that when it gets cold enough, it snows like crazy. I just checked the weather report... we're supposedly getting "light snow" right now, for a total accumulation of 1 inch. Apparently Mr. Weatherman has the day off or maybe he's just too busy watching the radar to look out the window. It's been a whiteout all morning and we've got more like 3 or 4 inches with no sign of stopping. I haven't seen this much snow since 1990.

Annika has been an incredible baby. She goes to sleep without a fuss (much), she's generally happy, no colic, etc. The only problems we've ever had are related to eating. She has never taken a bottle, and finally at 9 months or so she started drinking small amounts of formula from a cup. It still takes her 2 days to finish 2 ounces, but I suppose that's just as well. At $12.50 a can, an ounce a day is about all I can afford. The only solids she would eat for a long time were the ones with sugar in them. Fruit and ice cream. (Too many eager aunties and grandparents... everybody wants to let the baby have a bite of ice cream!) I was excited because a few weeks ago, I discovered that she'd eat the food we ate with gusto if we ground it up for her at mealtime. I'd even mix the veggies in with the chicken alfredo and she'd gobble it up. Well, all at once, she decided that if it's coming off a spoon, it must be BABY food and she's much to grown up for that. If you glob the pureed carrots on her tray and let her shovel it into her own beak, it's tasty as can be, but that spoon is not going anywhere near those lips. So, if you ever wonder what I'm up to during the day, likely I'm cutting things up into teensy weensy specs or sitting by the princess's throne while she takes a miniscule piece, pinches it between those tiny fingers, lifts it to her mouth which she forgets to open wide enough for 5 fingers AND a microscopic morsel, and watching as it falls into her lap. Repeat. This process takes us almost to the next meal. By the time I clean up this mess (and collect all the corn kernels that fall out of her dress as she explores the house afterward), it's about time to change that diaper and start all over again.
