Wow. It's always hard to see a really good guitar leave, but I'm afraid I may be chasing the UPS truck when this one goes out the door. Where to start?! Let's talk unforgettable sapele. A $650 upgrade, this set came from the GuitarMatch.com Tonewood Reserve and is of a quality that is nearly impossible to find these days. It has taken months and months of searching to unearth a few choice sets, and after seeing how well this guitar turned out I may not be willing to let the others go this cheaply! Flame maple bindings, a recent option at Rockbridge, make the eye-popping beauty of this guitar just that much more intense, especially when contrasted with the understated simplicity of the cedar top and b/w purfling and rosette. This is the first 0 guitar from Rockbridge that I've had the privilege of playing, and I now see why Brian and Randall have been so excited about them. Punchy, responsive, and loud with great presence. The comfort and playability of the 0 body size more than makes up for any loss in volume or bass response from a dread. A killer couch/travel guitar with gorgeous and rare tonewood. Buy it before somebody else does!
